Enlargment of BARILLA Industry
The Barilla G. & R. Fratelli company acquired a factory from the Pasta Zara company and expanded the existing plant for production purposes immediately after the actual transfer of ownership.
The intervention envisaged the renovation of factory buildings for approximately 5.000 square metres, subdivided as follows:
• Expansion of the finished product shipment warehouse;
• Windbreak canopies and conveyor services and shipping warehouse personnel;
• New truck service block and changing rooms;
• Expansion of the packaging area;
• External waste depot;
• Modification of loading yards and green areas.
HYDRAULIC DESIGN
As part of the expansion of the Industrial Plant owned by Barilla Spa in Muggia (TS), a Hydraulic Compatibility Assessment was carried out for the increased waterproofing of the external surfaces over an area of about 70,000 square meters.
A hydraulic model was developed with EPA- Swmm software as required by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region for the design of the reservoir on the peak flow rate between the ante and post operam situation with a return time of 50 years.
The volume was laminated with two geocellular module storage systems for a total of 630 cu m. The discharge into the adjacent Rio Ospo was sized to dispose of the maximum outflow in compliance with the agency-mandated udometric coefficient. All stormwater from truck and car parking yards was treated by coalescingfilter de-oiling system.
